This blog will serve as a place for me to create and display rants over various (but primarily political) topics. These rants, while likely not informative or particularly insightful, will be influenced by whatever particular issue has drawn my ire or my impish curiosity. As my chosen blog topic is rather vague, I will ideally be able to cover a diverse range of issues and topics here.

As the posts on this blog will cover a breadth of topics, I am unable to identify beforehand the methods in which I’ll be collecting original material. Likely, this will involve me interviewing people affected by or particularly interested in an issue, or perhaps me filming or photographing the subjects of my rants.  I assume I will also be drawing from sources such as the Creative Commons for images of my subject material.

For my first unit project, the collage, I will likely use my pets as my topic. Due to my girlfriend’s adoration of cats, I have been put in the unfortunate circumstance of sharing my living space with two of those feline hellions.

For my audio project, I am unsure of the topic yet sure of the method. As a journalism major, I am admittedly eager to begin moving towards the practices of journalism. To that end, my audio project will consist of me recording brief interviews with several people on and off-campus.

For the more political topics on this blog, I will create and maintain a running citation page dedicated to tracking all sources I have used on this blog. Each post will also contain a citation list of the sources used within that post. I do have a libertarian-left bias, and my sources may reflect that. I will endeavor to use more neutral and authoritative sources like the AP and Reuters, but I will also use more biased or potentially less authoritative sources as well. I am pretty ignorant, and the posts on this blog will likely reflect that.

I am not entirely sure of the direction this blog may take. It is entirely possible nothing political may get mentioned, but it is also possible that I decide that my intended collage topic is too mundane and change it to something more controversial, or more political. I hope that this blog is as entertaining for you as it is mandatory for me.
